Panel battery backup dying in odd spots in Napa

Went to swap a panel in a commercial kitchen off Trancas yesterday. Customer said the keypad was chattering at 3am and I found the backup battery bolt still mounted but the terminal clips corroded clean through. Who else sees weird failures from salt air or humidity indoors, or am I just unlucky with these newer enclosures?
