Rant: why does everyone skip the tamper sensor on outdoor boxes
Been in this trade for about 6 years now, mostly residential in the Phoenix area. Last month I went to fix a faulty keypad at a house and found the outdoor panel had no tamper switch wired at all, just dangling. The previous installer left it out to save 10 minutes, but now the whole system reports fine when someone pries the lid off. I checked my own last 20 installs and all have them, takes me maybe 8 extra minutes with a drill and a zip tie. Anyone else run into this shortcut, or am I just unlucky with the guys around here?

Insurance won't cover a break-in if the panel was never sealed right.
