That Chinese panel I bought off Amazon lost me an entire Saturday

Spent all day last Saturday troubleshooting a false alarm loop on a no-name DSC knockoff panel I grabbed for $45. Never again, has anyone else had luck with the lower-end Honeywell stuff instead?

Actually that's not really a DSC knockoff, DSC is Canadian! But yeah those Amazon specials are hit or miss. I put in a Honeywell Vista 20p for my parents place a few years back and it's been rock solid, just had to make sure I set the zones up right the first time.

Vista 20p is fine but way overcomplicates things for most people.

Wait, wait - I just realized you said it was a $45 panel? Lol that's basically the price of a fancy dinner, I can't believe you trusted that thing with your whole security system. I get wanting to save money but that's wild.
