Unpopular opinion: I love the old houses with plaster walls
Had a job in a 1920s bungalow this week, and the homeowner was worried about drilling. I showed them how a 3/8-inch masonry bit goes through the lath like butter and leaves a clean hole for the contact. Anyone else find plaster easier to work with than drywall sometimes?

Ever try to patch a big hole in drywall? I feel like I need an art degree for that, lol.

My buddy's patch looked like modern art.

My third attempt looked like a toddler tried to sculpt a mountain out of spackle.
