Warning: the panel at the Daytona Beach condo had every zone bypassed and I used to call that lazy
I was doing a takeover at a 6 unit condo on A1A in Daytona Beach last month and opened the can to find all 12 zones bypassed with tape over the LED. My first thought was that some installer cut corners, but the maintenance guy pulled out the old service log and showed me the building had been rewired in stages over 9 months, so zones got jumped one at a time so tenants wouldn't trip the siren at 2am. I used to knock anyone who left a panel like that, but seeing the paper trail changed my mind. Now I check the log before I judge a man's work. How do you all handle takeovers where the old setup looks wrong but might have a reason?
