Why does nobody talk about the cost of dual-path communicators?
I spent $450 on a cellular/IP combo for a commercial job and it's been rock solid through two storms. But my buddy swears by a $120 GSM-only unit that failed him once during a network outage. Which path do you lean on for your installs and has the cost ever burned you?

Haven't you guys had a GSM unit last five years without a hiccup? My old single-path is still kicking and I only swapped it out because I wanted the extra features. @taylor_miller10 makes it sound like these things fail every storm, but that's just not been my experience. I see people dropping $450 on dual-path gear and then they're out a whole day if the IP side goes down anyway. The cost difference matters when you're doing multiple installs and the cheaper option covers 95% of what you need. Overengineering every job with dual-path is just throwing money at a problem that barely exists for most buildings.

Overengineering every job is just throwing money at a problem that barely exists" - said every guy whose GSM-only unit hasn't failed yet, right before it does. But yeah, I guess for $120 you get to play the "will it work this storm?" lottery.
