Had a customer bring in a 2012 Civic with a cracked bumper last month, said it was 'just a scratch'

I popped off the bumper cover and found the mounting bracket was completely snapped in half from a hit-and-run they didn't even report. When I showed them the damage on the lift, they just shrugged and asked if I could zip-tie it for $20. Has anyone else dealt with folks playing down major damage like that?

they just shrugged and asked if I could zip-tie it for $20" I used to be pretty laid back about stuff like that, tell people to just bring it by and I'll take a look. But after a few too many people acting like their car is fine when the subframe is basically holding on with hopes and prayers... yeah, I get it now. Some folks really don't want to know how bad it is.

Oh man, in my experience people will straight up ignore bent frames and call it a fender bender.

Not really sure about that one @joseph_ellis85... I've seen plenty of shops turn away cars with frame damage because the insurance adjuster catches it on the lift. Maybe it's more about who's looking at it and how hard they push back on the estimate.
