Just finished a tough repair on a 2018 F-150 bed corner

I was working on a truck bed corner last Thursday and my cut line wandered off by about an eighth of an inch. I was in my home shop in Tacoma and had to stop everything. I used a small piece of scrap metal to make a new guide template, clamped it down, and re-cut the section. It took an extra hour, but the weld line came out perfect. Has anyone else had to fix a bad cut on a big panel like that?

Ever have a cut go so wrong you just stare at the metal for a minute? I was trimming a quarter panel on an old Bronco and my sawzall jumped the line, left a nasty notch. Ended up having to make a whole new patch piece from a donor fender.

Did you at least save the old piece for a template?

Ugh, been there, my angle grinder once took a full detour on some sheet metal.
