Old customer invited me to his daughter's wedding after 3 years of insurance repairs
Guy brings in the same silver Accord every 6 months like clockwork. Door dings, fender bender, mirror hit, you name it. Last time he picked it up he just stood there awkward and said "you fixed my car more times than my own brother called me this year." Then handed me an invite to his daughter's wedding. I went, didn't even bring a card. He pointed me out to his whole family as "the guy who keeps me on the road." Made me feel like the job is more than pulling dents. Anyone else had a customer cross that line from client to actual friend?

That story about him pointing you out to his whole family really got me. I had a plumber I fixed up for years, and one day he brought me a keychain his little girl made for the shop, said I was part of their routine now. It sure changes how you see the work.
