Old timer at the parts counter told me to stop chasing every dent for full pay, and it's been eating at me all week
I was picking up a fender at Marv's Auto Parts on Tuesday and got talking to a guy named Sal who's been pulling dents for 30 years. He said most young guys burn out because they treat every panel like a show car, even the beat up commuters that just need to look decent. He told me he has walked away from 4 jobs this year just because the owner wanted perfection on a 2009 Camry. Made me wonder if I'm pricing my time wrong on the everyday stuff. How do you all draw the line between a good repair and a perfect one?
