Rant: my angle grinder kicked on its own mid-cut and chewed a fender I spent 3 hours blocking
Was working a quarter panel on a customer's truck in my garage last Thursday around 8pm, and my old angle grinder just fired up on its own while I had it set down between cuts. It walked right across the panel and left a gouge about 4 inches long through the primer I'd just laid down. I grabbed the cord and yanked it from the wall, then found the trigger was stuck from all the metal dust packed inside it. Spent the next two hours redoing the block work and fishing that dust out with a pick and some compressed air. Now I unplug the thing every single time I set it down, no exceptions. Anyone else had a tool ghost start on them, and did you fix it or just retire the thing?
