Switched from a 3M to a Mirka sander on a rusty quarter panel and the dust collection was so good I thought the tool was broken at first.
Had to stop and check if the vacuum was even running because there was practically no dust cloud, and now I'm wondering if the extra $200 is worth it for every job or just big flat panels.

Bought a Mirka for a hood replacement job and felt like I was cheating. The dust collection saves so much cleanup time that I actually use it for most panels now, not just big flat ones. The extra cost hurts upfront but the lack of dust makes it worth it for me.

The Mirka was a game changer for me too (and my lungs, honestly). I started using it for everything after a big fender job where I didn't have to sweep the whole garage after. The price tag stung at first but not having dust caked on every surface is worth every penny. I actually reach for it on smaller panels now just because the cleanup is so easy. It's one of those tools where you don't realize how much time you wasted until you don't have to do it anymore.
