Took the cheaper paint brand on a Subaru last month and I'm still kicking myself
Honestly, I was between the mid-tier paint from PPG and the budget stuff from a local supplier. I figured hey, it's a 2014 Outback with 150k miles, who's gonna notice? Ngl, after 3 weeks the clear coat started peeling right around the driver's side mirror. Customer came back yesterday and I had to eat the cost to redo it. Has anyone else tried cutting corners on paint and just regretted it?

Holy crap, only 3 weeks?! That's brutal. I honestly thought it'd at least hold up for a couple months before looking rough. The clear coat peeling around the mirror is such a specific spot too, like the universe was just rubbing it in lol.

Who's gonna notice" - famous last words, my friend. I tried the same thing on a beater Civic and the clear coat looked like a bad sunburn within a month. Sometimes you just gotta learn the hard way that cheap paint ain't worth the headache.
