Warning: When a client asked me to skip blending paint to save time

It hit me that doing a half job hurts my name more than saying no. I'm standing my ground on proper repairs from now on.

Oh wow, I used to always try and make the client happy even if it meant cutting corners. Then I saw how a rushed job just comes back to bite you later when it doesn't look right. That's exactly why saying no is the better call.

Ever lose a future job because of one rushed paint job?

Stopped blending once for a "quick fix" client who was pushing hard. That spot looked TERRIBLE in two months, a constant reminder every time I drove past it. Now I just show them pictures of a proper blend next to a rushed job, turns the talk from price to quality real fast. Lost that one cheap job but got three calls from her neighbors who saw the difference. Your name is the only thing you really own in this work.
