Chose the 45 minute train ride over a $60 airport taxi in Chicago, still not sure I won
I was at O'Hare last month and had to get to a meeting near the Loop, and I stood there for like 10 minutes doing math in my head. Taxi was going to run me around $60 with tip, the Blue Line was $5 and change, but I had no clue how long it would actually take. I picked the train because I'm cheap, and then the meeting started while I was still standing up on a packed car. I walked in 12 minutes late with my bag and everybody just kind of stared at me. The guy next to me on the train was cool about it and told me he does it all the time, so maybe I'm just bad at timing. Next time I'm in Chicago should I just eat the $60 and skip the stress, or is there a trick to the timing I'm missing?
