Just realized I hung my laundry backwards for 8 years

My roommate in Madison finally pointed out that the tags on my shirts were facing the wall, not the room. Apparently the clips go on the bottom hem, not the shoulders, so the clothes dry faster without weird crease marks. I asked her how she knew and she said the neighbor laughed at my line every Saturday. Has anyone else had a basic chore explained to them way too late in life?

That neighbor laughing every Saturday is what gets me. How long did they just stand there watching you hang clothes before someone said something? I mean, I get not wanting to be nosy, but eight years of silent judging from the window seems like its own weird hobby. Did your roommate ever ask the neighbor why they never just yelled over the fence? Seems like a lot of people knew about this but nobody thought to give you a heads up until it became a running joke.
