My kitchen faucet exploded at the worst possible time

Last Saturday morning I was just trying to fill a pot for pasta when the sprayer hose on my old Moen faucet completely blew off and soaked me head to toe. Water was spraying everywhere for a solid 3 minutes before I figured out how to shut off the valve under the sink. Has anyone else had a random faucet part just give out like that on a weekend when no plumber answers?

Shutoff valves usually have a quarter turn not a full one to close.

Tbh, I had the exact same thing happen with a Delta about 2 years ago.

Did you try the quarter turn trick? That's what finally fixed mine after I fought with it for an hour lol.
