My neighbor's new fence is a full foot over the property line and he won't hear it
He put it up himself last weekend, all proud of the quick job. I pulled out my own tape and the city plot map, showed him the iron pin marker. He just shrugged and said 'close enough' while his dog was barking at me from the wrong yard. Has anyone else had to deal with a neighbor who just will not accept they messed up a basic measurement?

Man, I had to get a surveyor and then a lawyer, which finally got his attention.

That "close enough" attitude is wild... my uncle tried that with a shed foundation. The county made him tear it out and pay a fine, which was way more work than just measuring twice.

I read a story once about a guy who built a fence two feet onto his neighbor's property because he eyeballed the property line. The neighbor wanted to sell their house, and the survey showed the fence was in the wrong spot. The guy had to pay to move the fence and also lost money on the sale because his neighbor's buyer backed out. Measuring twice is way cheaper than dealing with that mess.
