My victory dance at the office got caught on the big screen

So this happened about three years ago at my old job in Phoenix. I finally finished a huge report after two days of non-stop work (like, 15 hours total). I was alone in my cubicle and did this little happy chair spin with a fist pump. Turns out, the IT guy was testing the new conference room system and my whole awkward celebration was projected on the main screen for the whole sales team meeting. My boss just said over the speaker, 'Nice moves, Terry.' Has anyone else had a private moment go super public like that?

Own it and laugh along with them.

Wait, they left the camera feed on during a real meeting? That's next level cringe! I have to agree with @patriciah51 about laughing it off, but man, the fact your boss used the speaker system to call you out is brutal. That story is going to follow you forever, but at least it's a funny one now!

Taylor the other side of this is that laughing it off can sometimes make people think you don't take your job seriously, which isn't great when your boss just called you out over the speaker. A quick apology and a little joke is fine, but I think @patriciah51's advice might backfire if it comes off as too casual in a professional setting. Better to acknowledge the mistake and move on than lean into the embarrassment too hard.
