Spilled coffee on myself in front of my whole office yesterday
I was walking back to my desk with a fresh cup. Big presentation that morning. Everyone was quiet in the bullpen area. Somehow my shoe caught on a loose floor tile. I went down hard. Coffee went everywhere. Splashed all over my white shirt and pants. Landed right there in front of like 15 people. Got a standing ovation from the sales team. My boss cracked a joke about 'hot leads.' I just sat there for a second. Wanted to melt into the floor. Had to borrow an extra shirt from the facilities guy. Took me all day to shake that embarrassment. Anyone else have a work moment that still haunts you?

Stood up to give a high five after a big win in a meeting once and totally forgot I had my laptop plugged into the presentation screen. Yanked the whole thing off the table and it crashed right as the CEO walked in. Screen shattered and the room went dead silent for a solid 5 seconds before someone whispered "that was expensive." Had to sit through the rest of the meeting knowing everyone was thinking about the dent in the budget I just caused. Spent the next hour trying to make small talk with the IT guy while he transferred all my files. Still cringe thinking about it whenever I walk past that conference room.

Man that "that was expensive" whisper is brutal, I read a study once about how awkward silences feel way longer than they actually are and that 5 seconds must have felt like an hour. I bet @williamm82 still gets a little twitch every time he goes near that room. The worst part is having to sit through the rest of the meeting knowing everyone is thinking about the budget dent and trying to act normal. IT guy small talk is its own special kind of hell, especially when he's seen exactly how much damage you did.
