TIL that awkward pause after a sneeze is way worse when nobody says bless you
I was in a quiet coffee shop downtown last Tuesday and I sneezed so loud everyone looked up. Then dead silence for like 5 seconds. No one said a word. I just stood there feeling like a total weirdo. Has anyone else had that moment where you're just waiting for someone to acknowledge it and they don't?

Man just say "whew" real loud and move on. That makes it feel like you own the moment instead of waiting on someone else to react.

Exactly this. I've started doing something similar where I'll just let out a little breath whistle or a "whew" followed by a slow head shake, and it instantly changes the energy in the room. People look at you like you knew something they didn't, which is honestly better than having to explain yourself. The key is committing to it fully with no hesitation, half-hearted just makes it awkward.

Boom, instant street cred without saying a SINGLE real thing. Love it.
