Vent: I got a standing ovation at karaoke night for a song I completely butchered, and now I can't decide if that was a win or a loss
Back in March I went to this dive bar in Sacramento for my buddy's birthday and put my name in for karaoke, and when they called me up I picked a song I had no business singing. I forgot half the words, went flat on the chorus, and at one point I just started humming and pointing at the crowd like that would fix it. The whole place clapped and cheered anyway, and two guys bought me drinks after, but my friend said they were probably just being nice because it was so bad it was funny. So what's the real story here, do people clap for that stuff out of pity or because watching someone totally bomb is actually the whole point of karaoke night?
