Vent: Just learned my coworker heard my entire awkward voicemail live

Yesterday I left a voicemail for my boss but accidentally butt-dialed my coworker right after. I was ranting about how awkward the voicemail sounded, saying 'I sounded like a robot having a stroke.' Turns out she listened to the whole thing before calling me back. She even quoted my exact words back to me. Anyone else have someone silently hear your cringiest moment without telling you?

Wait, did they at least laugh about it with you after? The only way I got through my own version of that mess was by leaning into it hard. I told my coworker, 'Yeah, you caught me having a full-on mental conversation with myself, congrats.' We ended up joking about it, and I admitted the voicemail was a trainwreck. Sometimes owning the awkwardness is the only way to keep it from eating you alive.
