Wore new boots to a wedding in Nashville and the heel came off during the toast
So this happened about 3 weeks ago at my cousin's wedding in Nashville and I still cringe when I think about it. I bought these boots 2 days before the wedding for $140 and the guy at the store swore they were broken in, but he was wrong. Right in the middle of the best man's toast, I felt something shift under my left foot, and then the whole heel just came loose. I tried to act normal and shuffle to the bathroom, but the heel was dragging and making this loud clacking sound on the hardwood floor. About 40 people turned around and my aunt asked if I was okay in front of everyone. I ended up hiding in the bathroom for 15 minutes trying to push it back on with a tiny bottle of hand lotion and a fork. Eventually I just took both boots off and walked around the rest of the night in my socks like a little kid. Has anyone else had shoes fall apart at the worst possible moment, and what did you do?
