Changed my mind about power washing after last weekend

I used to blast everything at full pressure, like 3000 PSI on my concrete driveway. Thought that was the only way to get it clean, you know? Then I borrowed a neighbor's surface cleaner attachment last Saturday and it took me maybe 20 minutes instead of the usual hour. Plus no streaks or gouges in the concrete from my own dumb technique. Now I'm wondering how many other basic tools I've been using wrong for years. Has anyone else had a similar wake-up call with a simple tool?

...and the surface cleaner is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait till you try a pressure washer with adjustable tips instead of just one. I used to think a zero degree tip was the best because it's so powerful, but swapping to a 40 degree for paint prep or wood was a game changer. Really makes you question everything you thought you knew about simple tools.

Man, I feel this so much. I had the exact same experience with adjustable tips, I thought I was hot stuff with my zero degree until I tried a wider spray for my fence and actually got the job done faster without gouging the wood. It's wild how one little change in a tool you thought you knew inside and out can totally shift your whole approach.

Next you'll tell me my hammer needs adjustable heads too.
