The barista at my local shop told me my iced coffee order was "aggressive"

I always do 6 shots of espresso in a venti cup with light ice. She said it's basically a caffeine overdose and suggested I try a cortado instead. Now I'm down to 3 shots and I actually taste the coffee now instead of just feeling jittery. Has anyone else had a barista call them out on their order?

Did you see that article about how too much caffeine can mess with your sleep cycle for days? I mean, three shots is probably way more reasonable anyway.

I mean that barista was probably trying to save you from a heart attack by age 40 lol. 6 shots is basically a liquid panic attack in a cup. And hey @the_simon, at least now you can actually sleep and still taste the coffee instead of just feeling your skeleton vibrate. Three shots is still solid, you're not a quitter you just graduated to enjoying the drink.

Back when I was slinging drinks I had a regular who swore by six shots in his Americano. Dude would be bouncing off the walls by noon and crashing hard by dinner. Took him a while to figure out three was the sweet spot for actually getting through the whole day without that nasty mid afternoon slump. Your body builds a tolerance fast but that doesn't mean it's good for you. Sleep quality is the first thing to go and once that's messed up everything else follows. You made the right call dropping down.
