Warning: I ignored the 2pm slump for 3 years and it nearly broke my brain
Three years ago I started skipping lunch at my desk in Columbus and just pushing through the afternoon with coffee, and I thought I was being efficient. Last Tuesday I hit a wall so hard that I typed the same sentence four times in an email and didn't notice until my boss asked if I was okay. Turns out my "small win" of saving 30 minutes a day was costing me every afternoon, and I finally ate a real sandwich outside on Wednesday and got more done in two hours than I had all day Monday. Has anyone else tricked themselves into thinking skipping breaks is a win? How do you actually tell when your brain needs a real pause instead of another cup of coffee?
