Hit 500 sourdough loaves baked in my home oven and it feels weird

I just logged my 500th loaf in my notebook, all from the same starter I began in 2020. On one hand, it's a huge number that shows real dedication, but on the other, it feels like I'm just getting started and still have so much to learn about crumb structure. Has anyone else hit a big personal count that made you stop and think?

That feeling of "just getting started" even after 500 loaves is so real. It's like each batch teaches you something new that makes you question the last hundred. You finally nail the ear, then you're obsessed with how open the crumb is, then you're chasing that perfect gelatinized crust. The goalposts just keep moving, which is honestly the fun part.

Man, that's it exactly. It's like @emery199 just described every hobby I've ever tried. You get decent at making coffee, then suddenly you're weighing beans and timing pours. You learn a guitar song, then you're down a rabbit hole of perfect tone. It never ends because getting good at one thing just shows you the next layer. The fun isn't in finishing, it's in always having a new tiny thing to figure out.
