My aunt insisted I use a scale for my pie crust and after 3 failed attempts, I finally listened and it was perfect.

She mailed me her old OXO scale and said 'stop using cups for butter and flour, you're adding too much air,' and my blueberry pie finally had a flaky, not tough, crust last Thanksgiving.

Stop using cups for butter" is what finally got me to switch too, and now I'm a total convert.

Plus it's way easier to just read the tablespoon marks on the wrapper (no more greasy cup to wash).

Totally agree. Alice_singh66 is right about the greasy cup thing. Using the wrapper marks is just faster and cleaner. Never going back to scooping butter into a measuring cup again.
