My grandma told me to always weigh my flour, and I finally learned why.

I kept getting dry, crumbly scones and thought it was my oven. She said, "A cup of flour can weigh 30 grams more depending on how you scoop it." I bought a $20 scale and my next batch was perfect. Has anyone else had a recipe totally change after switching to weights?

Yeah, that scale fixed my cookie recipes too... total game changer.

Wait, you guys were just using cups before? I tried that once and my cookies came out like pancakes. The flour difference between scooping and spooning it into a cup is huge, like a whole extra handful. A scale showed me I was packing in way too much. No wonder my stuff was dry.

My baking life got way easier after weighing stuff, just like @nora_walker57 said about her cookies.
