My new convection oven blew a fuse on batch 3 of cookies
I finally saved up and got a fancy convection oven for my home bakery setup. Worked great for the first two batches of sugar cookies. Then on batch 3, middle of baking, everything just shut off. Turns out the oven draws way more power than my old one and it tripped the breaker in my kitchen. Had to run an extension cord to the living room outlet just to finish the order. Has anyone else had their regular outlets just not handle a new oven?

Yo wait, did you check the amp rating on that new oven before plugging it in?

Fair point, but in my experience those big appliances usually come with a standard plug for a reason. Might be worth checking the manual before calling the manufacturer crazy.

Wait, did you check the outlet's actual amperage rating before plugging it in?

Oh man, that 20 amp breaker (or was it 15?) never saw it coming. I swear manufacturers just slap a "standard plug" on these things and hope for the best. My buddy had the same issue with a toaster oven that was basically a space heater in disguise. It's like they expect your whole kitchen to be wired for a welding shop or something. Running that extension cord to the living room is a classic move though, I've done that for my air fryer more times than I'd like to admit.
