Honestly I used to be so careful with mine, feeding it at the exact same time every day and keeping it in the same spot. Then I forgot about it in the back of the fridge for like a month. When I finally pulled it out and fed it, it went crazy and made the best bread I've ever had. Tbh I think a little neglect makes it stronger. Now I just feed it when I remember and it's way more active.

Seriously! My friend left hers in a cabinet for two months and it came back even better. Guess they really do thrive on chaos.
