Bought a cheap wireless temp probe and it died mid-brisket

I picked up a $25 no-name bluetooth probe off Amazon and the battery gave out 6 hours into a 12 hour cook on my offset. The meat was fine but I had to babysit the door with a manual thermometer after that. Has anyone else had luck with budget probes or do I just need to bite the bullet and get a wifi one?

Quit acting like the probe died and took your whole cook with it. You had a manual thermometer on standby and the brisket turned out fine, so what exactly is the problem here? Six hours of hands off time on a $25 piece of junk is basically a miracle. I've had $100 probes crap out on me mid chicken thighs, so price ain't the guarantee you think it is. Grab a spare battery pack and call it a day, or just keep a cheap oven thermometer in the door like the rest of us who don't trust tech that costs less than a pack of ribs.

Man, "basically a miracle" is exactly right lol. I've had a cheap probe last longer than my fancy one on a pork butt, and @garcia.tyler nailed it that price means nothing when the battery dies at hour four.
