Caught a 14 lb brisket stall at 3am and almost gave up

Last Saturday I got a flat that just would NOT get past 160 for like 4 hours. I was out there in the cold with a flashlight staring at my WSM like it owed me money, finally wrapped it in butcher paper and it shot up to 203 in 90 minutes. Anyone else have a stall that almost made you throw in the towel?

Start thinking about all the times in life where pushing through the hard part pays off. It reminds me of learning to ride a bike as a kid, you fall over a dozen times and want to quit, but then something clicks and suddenly you're cruising. Same thing with fixing a leaky faucet, you spend an hour sweating over a pipe and then one turn of the wrench fixes everything in two seconds. The stall is just life's way of testing if you really want that brisket bad enough.

So @richard_anderson, is that why my brisket tasted like a broken faucet?
