My offset smoker's door hinge gave out mid-brisket in Tulsa
I had a 14-pound packer going at 225 for about 6 hours last Sunday, and the top hinge just snapped when I went to add a log, dropping the door and spiking the temp to 310 for a good 20 minutes. I scrambled to prop it with a brick and a welding glove, but the bark got crusty and the flat dried out before I could stabilize it. Has anyone else dealt with a sudden hinge failure, and did you just replace the whole door or find a decent weld repair that held up?

My hinge gave out the same way, guess I should've used the brick as a doorstop from day one.
