My wireless thermometer probe read 194 when the brisket was actually 148
Was doing a 14 hour smoke last Saturday for my cousin's graduation party in Austin. The Meater probe said internal temp was 194 so I pulled it, wrapped it, put it in the cooler. Two hours later I slice into it and it's basically raw in the middle. Checked the probe with boiling water and it was off by 46 degrees. Had to throw the whole brisket in the oven at 350 to try and save it. Still came out tough. Anyone else had a wireless probe just go haywire on them mid cook?

Man that's brutal, especially ruining a whole brisket for a party. The Meater probes are supposed to be reliable too, guess not. I just stick with a good old wired ThermoWorks now after seeing stories like this, too risky to trust bluetooth for something that expensive.

Wait, isn't the Meater actually a wireless probe, not Bluetooth? @mason.brian I thought they use their own wifi bridge to avoid range issues, but your mileage may vary on reliability still.
