Blew out my knee carrying a bucket of compound up steep stairs at a 1920s house in Portland
After 6 months of physical therapy I switched to mixing smaller batches on each floor instead of hauling everything from the truck and has anyone else had to completely change how they carry supplies after an injury?

The whole point of carrying supplies is building up strength and endurance... not babying yourself. Mixing smaller batches just means more trips up and down those stairs. That's actually harder on your knees in the long run with all the extra walking. I've seen plenty of guys push through worse injuries by just strapping the bucket higher on their shoulder and using better body mechanics. Physical therapy is fine but you gotta get back to real work eventually or your body will just get weaker. Sounds like your therapist sold you on being careful forever instead of teaching you how to work around the injury.

Used a wrap around my knee and a stiffer boot for a month, that helped me get back at it way faster.
