Can we talk about how the 20 minutes after work decides my whole night?
Last Tuesday I walked in the door at 5:40 and did what I always do, dropped my bag, kicked off my boots, and sat on the kitchen floor for a bit with the dog. Did not touch my phone, did not turn on the TV, just sat there. My wife said something that stuck with me, she said the first thing you do after work becomes the mood of the house. So I tested it for two weeks. On the days I scrolled my phone first, I felt wired until midnight and got nothing done. On the days I sat on the floor with the dog for ten minutes, I actually made dinner and called my brother back. The weird part is the phone days did not feel bad in the moment. That is what makes it tricky. The habit hides itself. Does anyone else have a set thing they do right after work that they swear by, or am I just lucky the dog is patient with me?
