Dropped $140 on a "time saving" meal prep service and threw half of it away
I signed up for one of those pre portioned meal kit deliveries back in January because I was working 24 hour shifts and kept eating gas station food on the way home. Six meals a week for four weeks came out to about $140, and the recipes took me almost an hour each because the instructions assumed I had a kitchen the size of a restaurant. Half the produce was wilting by day three, and I tossed two full meals in the trash because I got called in and never cooked them. Now I just make a big pot of chili or a tray of chicken on my off day and portion it into containers myself. Anyone else tried one of these services and actually made it work with a weird schedule?
