Just found out my work chair has been slowly ruining my back for 8 months

Was messing around with the adjustments on my office chair this morning (the cheap mesh one from Staples) and actually looked at the manual for once. Turns out I've been sitting with the lumbar support like 3 inches too high this whole time. No wonder I've been getting those sharp pains after lunch. Did some quick googling and apparently 80% of people don't set up their chairs right. Anyone else just sit down and assume it's fine?

@richard_anderson probably nailed it - half the battle is just not slouching while you eat.

$80 Staples chair from 2019 here. I messed with the lumbar once, decided it was fine, and moved on. Honestly the sharp pains might just be from leaning forward to eat lunch hunched over your keyboard.
