My morning commute taught me a weird fact about city noise
I was reading a city report while waiting for the bus last week. It said the average street corner in my town hits 70 decibels for 18 hours a day. That's as loud as a vacuum cleaner running nonstop. I always thought it was just annoying, but the report called it a real health issue. Now I notice how my head actually hurts after a long walk downtown. Has anyone else seen numbers for their area? I'm curious if it's just us.

What did the report say it does to your health exactly?

The part about it raising heart attack risk by 20% in the first hour is what got me. I read that and just stared at my screen. @the_stella, that's a huge jump for something so quick. It makes you rethink every little choice. They really buried how fast the damage can start.
