My neighbor's comment about my 9 PM lawn mowing made me rethink quiet hours
He came over Friday and said he doesn't mind the noise because it means someone still cares about their yard, which hit different since I've been mowing late for 4 years after my hospital shifts, so has anyone else had a neighbor reframe something you felt guilty about?

Honestly, that’s such a cool thing for your neighbor to say though, right? It’s like he saw the effort behind the noise instead of just the annoyance, and that’s rare. Ngl, I had a similar thing happen last year when I was getting my driveway redone at like 7 AM on a Saturday. I felt awful about the jackhammer sounds, but this older guy across the street came over and said it reminded him of when his own house was built back in the 80s, and he loved the “progress” sound. It completely took the guilt away, same as your neighbor did for you. Sometimes people just get it, and it makes you realize you’re not the only one overthinking your own stuff.
