Last Tuesday around 9pm, mid-spin, the drum just stopped and made this awful grinding noise. I pulled the lid off and saw the drive belt had snapped clean in two. My neighbor who does appliance repair for a living glanced at the photo and said the belt and a worn idler pulley would run me about $4 total at Ace. Two trips later (first one was the wrong belt size, of course) and 20 minutes of knuckle-busting work, it hums like new. Curious if anyone else has rescued an appliance with a cheap part instead of shelling out for a tech visit.
