Spent $80 on a nice broom and it actually made sweeping less annoying
Honestly I was using the same $5 dollar store broom for like 3 years and just accepted that sweeping made my back hurt and left dust everywhere. My neighbor at the complex saw me struggling and let me try his $80 Oxo broom last month. I bought one that same day and now I actually sweep my kitchen floor every night without feeling like I got chewed out by a drill sergeant. Has anyone else had a cheap tool waste their time more than it saved them money?

Oh man, I totally get this. It's wild how much a good broom changes your whole vibe. I had a similar thing happen but with a dustpan - I bought some fancy one with a rubber lip from a hardware store and it actually picks up everything on the first sweep instead of me chasing crumbs around for ten minutes. I mean, my cheap one was fine until I realized it was mostly just pushing dirt around in circles. Now I just feel silly for not upgrading sooner, even if it did cost like triple what I'd normally spend on a dustpan.

That "chasing crumbs around for ten minutes" line hit me hard. My old dustpan was basically a decorative item that just pushed dirt in circles too. Funny how we accept terrible tools for years and then one good one changes everything.
