The free phone app beat my 600 dollar level tool
I run a small finish carpentry crew in Dayton and always swore by my expensive digital level for hanging cabinets. Last month I forgot it at the shop and used a free bubble level app on my phone to set a 10 foot upper run. The app was dead on, checked with a laser afterward, and now I only pull out the big tool for critical show work. Has anyone else ditched their pro gear for a cheap alternative after one lucky try?

That "one lucky try" part is what worries me, since a phone level is only as flat as whatever surface the phone's sitting on and cabinet runs are exactly where a tiny lean stacks up over 10 feet. Did you shim the phone itself or just trust it against the box?
