The night I made 80 cold calls and got one yes was actually my best shift ever

Last Thursday I had to call through a list of 200 leads for my insurance agency job. Most people hung up or yelled at me, but around call 62 I got a woman named Carol who wanted to talk about her homeowners policy. We ended up on the phone for 45 minutes and she signed up for everything. Everyone else on my team thought I was crazy for celebrating one sale out of so many rejections. Has anyone else had a brutal grind that somehow ended up feeling worth it?

Did you just straight up keep going after number 80 or did you take breaks? I had a similar night doing surveys and I just started making it a game to see how fast I could get through each call, the one good one felt like winning the lottery.

Nah I gotta disagree with making it a game. Rushing through calls just means you miss important details and probably annoy people more than help. Taking a few minutes between each call to reset your brain makes the whole process way less painful and gives you better results in the end.
