TIL sorting laundry by fabric weight instead of color cut my dryer time from 50 minutes to 30

I always did lights and darks like my mom taught me, but last month I read that heavy stuff like towels and jeans holds way more water and slows down the whole load. Now I do two loads, one heavy and one light, and the light load finishes in half the time. Anyone else mess with how they sort, or am I late to this?
