Took me 5 tries to see that my invoice template was the actual problem
I spent months chasing late payments from clients, blaming them for being slow or forgetful. Then one guy in Phoenix called me out, said my invoice looked like a receipt from 1999 and he kept missing the due date. I redid the format with a big bold due date at the top and a simple total line, nothing fancy. Since then, 8 out of 10 payments have come in on time, which never happened before. It made me realize most people aren't trying to be difficult, they just need the info handed to them clearly. Has anyone else fixed a routine problem by changing the paperwork instead of the person?
