Appreciation post: Mayo on a hot dog at Coney Island changed my mind

I was at Lafayette Coney Island in Detroit last weekend and figured why not try their recommendation of mayo on a hot dog. It actually worked way better than I expected, the creaminess balanced out the chili and onions. Has anyone else given this a shot at a coney place?

Three coneys with mayo in Grand Rapids a few years back and honestly it just made the bun soggy before I could finish. I'll take the classic chili mustard and onions any day.

Wait, three coneys with mayo? Like you ordered it on three separate hot dogs or three in one sitting? That's a lot of mayo exposure at once, I feel like you gotta ease into it with just one first to see if you even like the combo before committing to a whole trio.
