My coworker swore by mustard on watermelon, I still think about that argument

We were on break in the break room at 3am, she had a slice of watermelon and squirted yellow mustard right on it. I laughed and asked if she was messing with me, but she got dead serious and said it tastes like a better version of a summer picnic. She made me try a tiny bite and I honestly couldn't hate it, but I refused to admit that out loud. She said it was a family thing from her grandma in Louisiana, and they've done it for like 40 years. I went home and tried it again with a fresh melon the next day, just to be sure, and it still wasn't bad. But I ain't telling her that because she'd never let me forget it. Has anyone else had a salty condiment on fruit that weirdly works, or was she just messing with my head that night?
